I’m a Civil Engineer in Training specializing in site development and civil infrastructure. My work focuses on grading, drainage, stormwater, utilities, and overall site design, taking projects from initial concepts through construction documents. I focus on creating practical designs that work both on paper and in the field.
Thomas J. Anderson III is an Engineer in Training at Development Resource Group in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he carries civil site design projects from first concept through construction documents. His scope covers everything on a site: earthwork and grading, stormwater and drainage design, utility layout, and overall site planning, coordinated so the pieces fit together on paper and in the field.
Outside the office, he serves on the City of Conway Planning Commission and was recently named to the steering committee guiding the city's new comprehensive plan — putting him on both sides of the review table. He came to civil engineering by way of mechanical engineering at Clemson University, then completed a B.S. in Civil Engineering at Coastal Carolina University, interning at CRP Industries along the way, where he gained experience in the remanufacturing of electronic power steering systems. That mechanical and automotive background has continued beyond his formal engineering career. He is also the co-founder of 3Dimensional, a 3D-printing business focused on designing and producing automotive components and accessories, combining fluid mechanics, engineering, digital design, manufacturing, and entrepreneurship outside of his professional work.
